These are perfect for various indoor applications such as under-cabinet lighting, above-cabinet lighting, pantry lighting, cupboard lighting, bookshelf lighting, cove lighting, bias lighting, and more. Generally, indoor LED strip lights lack weatherproof or waterproof features, but it becomes crucial to opt for these qualities if you plan to install them in areas like bathrooms or other spaces prone to exposure to moisture.

    Navigating Length Considerations for LED Strips:

    When delving into the realm of LED strip lights, accurately gauging the required length is paramount. Begin by measuring the dimensions of all the spaces earmarked for your strip lighting, taking into consideration any gaps, as well as twists and turns around corners.

    LED strips are readily available in predetermined lengths, with certain styles offering the flexibility of custom lengths. Once you ascertain the necessary length for your project, it becomes crucial to identify the maximum run of the chosen strip.

    Every LED strip comes with a maximum run, denoting the maximum continuous length that can be powered without encountering voltage drop. Voltage drop occurs when the supplied energy from a power source diminishes as electric current traverses through the wiring or other components that don't maintain voltage on a circuit. If the strip run exceeds this specified length, the diminishing energy can lead to reduced intensity towards the end of the strip. Careful consideration of these factors ensures optimal performance and illumination for your LED strip lighting setup.


    Mitigating Voltage Drop in Your LED Strip Setup:

    When working with our 12-volt LED strips, consider opting for 24-volt alternatives if you plan on installing longer runs. However, if your project still exceeds the maximum run of your chosen strip, follow these steps:

    Extend with Additional Strips:
    Once you reach the maximum run of your initial strip, wire additional strips directly to your power supply. This approach is suitable for single-color strips that require simple on/off functionality.

    Wiring for Extended Runs:
    If your project demands more than the maximum run of your LED strip lights, each additional section should be wired directly to the power supply instead of being connected to the previous strip. After wiring the next section to the power supply, there's no need to run the power back until you reach the maximum run for the new section. For instance, if you require a continuous 49-foot run of strip lights with a maximum run of 16 3/8 feet, you must wire the strip back to power twice after the initial connection—once for every 16 3/8 feet of strip lighting.

    Wiring Options:
    You have the choice of running a wire from each strip to the power supply or controller. Alternatively, use a single run of higher gauge wire and splice each strip into it using a "T" Tap Wire Splice Connector.

    Proximity and Power Control:
    Place the strips closely enough to give the appearance of a connected setup. If the power supply is linked to a wall switch, the strips will power on and off simultaneously. If there's no switch, you'll need to run all strips back to a controller connected to the power supply. Ensure the controller can handle the power draw, as they come with amp or wattage ratings.

    Dimming and Specialty Strips:
    For dimming purposes or if you're working with RGB, RGBW, or tunable white strip lights, incorporating an amplifier becomes essential to maintain optimal performance.
