Not enough opposition for Miku Tashiro in Tashkent
The hierarchy of the category U63kg in Tashkent was perfectly respected with the two top seed athletes, Miku Tashiro from Japan, already the winner of three World Judo Masters and Andreja Leski of Slovenia, finalist of the last Grand Slam in Tel Aviv, found themselves in the final after a series of serious and flawless victories during the preliminary rounds.

Judo in the time of Covid-19: Rok Draksic
Covid-19 influences the life of many judoka and coaches. Roki Draksic is one of the those top fighters from the past, although past sounds like it’s been years. Okay there was good follow up in Slovenia with Adrian Gomboc in Draksic’ former category U66kg. He won the first male European title for Slovenia but his hunting style is still in our fresh memories. You can’t imagine Draksic is our of judo, but now he is, like many. Oon Yeoh of JudoCrazy memorized his career … from a distance.

Ketleyn Quadros sets new records with victory in Bratislava
Brazil and Japan were the winning nations at the European Open in Bratislava. Both countries captured three gold medals in the women’s edition of the World Cup event where 100 points were at stake for the winners of each category. There was one gold medal for Anka Pogacnik of Slovenia who defeated her Japanese opponent Sugiyama. In the first edition of the European Open in Bratislava all weight categories were done in one day.

Kaja Kajzer shows her potential once more
The final for women U57kg took long minutes of golden score for the victory to finally tip over to Kaja Kajzer of Slovenia against Helene Receveaux of France, on a somewhat confused action initiated by Receveaux but concluded on a counter by Kajzer.
