Red Wings send Anthony Mantha to Washington in trade deadline deal
General manager Steve Yzerman went big in the final minutes of Monday’s NHL trade deadline. The Wings traded forward Anthony Mantha to the Washington Capitals for forwards Jakub Vrana and Richard Panik, a 2021 first-round pick and a 2022 second-round pick. Mantha, 26, signed a four-year contract worth $22.8 million before the season but has had a disappointing year.
