The Astros defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 4-2 in the best-of-seven series: 5-6, 5-2, 0-7, 5-0, 3-2, 4-1. An infamous cheating scandal plagued their first title in 2017. Despite earning two Manager of the Year awards, skipper Dusty Baker hadn't won the World Series before. Former Olympic gold medallist Yuli Gurriel hit .316 in the series against the Philadelphia Phillies.
