Uta Abe is back on top!
Uta Abe had a quick first victory against Sofia Asvesta (CYP) by throwing her with uchimata at the edge in a little over one minute. Her next fight was her hardest, against Amandine Buchard (FRA), who took her to Golden Score. In the end, Abe won by penalties. Buchard got her third shido for grabbing Abe's leg to stop a hip throw attempt.

Amandine Buchard makes U52kg more exciting
At the Grand Slam of Antalya the category U52kg had some strong women in the starting grid. No. 1 seed Chelsie Giles advanced without trembling against Ariane Soler (ESP) in the first round, before eliminating Gultaj Mammadaliyeva (AZE), then the surprising Sofia Asvesta (CYP) who ended up in 7th place and finally Sita Kadamboeva (UZB) in the semi-final. Imposing her long levers to score in tachi-waza or brilliantly on the ground, Giles seemed untouchable.
