Kayla Harrison Becomes UFC Champion
Kayla Harrison, the two-time Olympic judo gold medalist, secured the UFC women's bantamweight title with a commanding victory over Julianna Peña on June 8 at UFC 316, held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The American fighter finished Peña in the second round with a Kimura submission, a shoulder lock technique made famous by Japanese judo legend Masahiko Kimura.
